Melbourne City have rewarded Championship winning goalkeeper Patrick Beach following an excellent breakout season, handing the shot-stopper a new two-year deal.
Handed a surprise debut in Round One of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2024-25 campaign, Beach went on to play every minute for City as they went on to win the Championship.

Not only did the 21-year-old finish the campaign having kept a competition-high 12 clean sheets but Beach also ended the season with the best save percentage of any goalkeeper in the competition to have played over 10 matches.
Already contracted for another season, Beach will now remain a Melbourne City player until the end of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2027-28 campaign.

TRANSFER ANALYSIS: A new Aussie blueprint to cracking Europe has emerged in the Isuzu UTE A-League
“I’ve learnt so much over the past two seasons at Melbourne City both on and off the pitch, and I really believe there’s no better environment in Australia to keep developing as a player.
“Winning the Championship last season was a moment I’ll never forget, and now I’m hungrier than ever to keep pushing, chase more success, and test myself at the next level in the AFC Champions League.”
Having established himself as City’s number one Beach’s impressive form was then rewarded by Subway Socceroos head coach Tony Popovic, who invited the 21-year-old to be a part of a Socceroos training camp in May as a train-on player.
“Patrick has shown tremendous professionalism and maturity since joining the Club, and
we’re delighted to have secured him for the next three seasons,” said Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo.
“He had to be patient for his opportunity, but he kept learning, training hard, and was ready when his moment came. To play every game in a Championship-winning season is a credit to his character and ability.
He added: “We’re confident he’ll only continue to grow and take his game to another level in the years ahead.”
Beach’s contract extension follows on from the likes Alessandro Lopane, Samuel Souprayen, Max Caputo and Harry Shillington – all of whom have signed new deals in the off-season.
