Brisbane Roar sign ‘electrifying’ attacker with a ‘dangerous set of skills’

Brisbane Roar have announced the arrival of Michael Ruhs from Isuzu UTE A-League rivals Western United.

The “electrifying” Australian forward joins Michael Valkanis’ new-look Roar for the 2025-26 season and Brisbane are still in the market for attacking reinforcements.

Ruhs swaps Melbourne for Brisbane after scoring four goals and registering six goal involvements across 20 appearances for Western United in 2024-25 as the Green and Black finished third and reached the Semi-Finals.

Despite his age, the 22-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Brisbane following stints with Macarthur Bulls, Central Coast Mariners and Western United in 94 matches.

“It’s an honour to join a club like Brisbane Roar, one of the biggest in the A-Leagues,” said Ruhs.

“I can’t wait to meet the passionate fans and use my strengths on the field to help get the team back where they should be, playing finals football.”

New boss Valkanis has already recruited Milorad StajicJames McGarry (Aberdeen) and Hosine Bility, while re-signing Antonee Burke-Gilroy and Austin Ludwik.
