Roar confirm veteran’s exit after 176 matches

Brisbane Roar have confirmed the departure of Corey Brown after the expiration of his contract.

One of the longest serving players at the Isuzu UTE A-League outfit, Brown departs after playing 176 matches in all competitions for the Roar and is one of only eight players to reach the 150-game mark for the club.

The fullback, who scored six goals during his time at the club was part of Roar’s 2013/14 double winning team.

Brown joins Florin Berenguer, Adam Zimarino, Keegan Jelacic and Louis Zabala in exiting at the end of the 2024-25 campaign as new coach Michael Valkanis seeks to rebuild the squad.

The Roar finished second-bottom this term, winning five of their 26 matches under Ruben Zadkovich, who has since moved on.
