Brisbane Roar have started their new era under Michael Valkanis with the signing of Bosnian midfielder Milorad Stajic.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina youth international moves to the Isuzu UTE A-League on a two-year deal in Brisbane.
Former Ajax and Greece assistant Valkanis is the new man at the helm and the Australian coach has recruited Stajic as his first signing from Serbian SuperLiga outfit FC Radnicki Nis, where he made over 40 appearances across two seasons.

A product of Swiss giants FC Basel’s academy, the 23-year-old defensive midfielder has also represented Switzerland at youth level.
“I am very happy to commit to playing for Brisbane Roar for the next two seasons,” said Stajic, who brings a ‘hard-working mentality, high technical ability and strong defensive qualities’.
“The city of Brisbane looks to be a beautiful place to play football, and I am looking forward to putting on the jersey and representing the great fans there this season. I can’t wait to see them all at the stadium.”
The former Melbourne City and Adelaide United boss is back in the hot seat after leaving Turkish top-flight side Adana Demirspor in September.
Brisbane are looking to improve in 2025-26 after finishing second from bottom last season.

“Milorad joining the club is a pivotal moment as we begin to build out our squad,” said Valkanis.
“He is a composed defensive midfielder with good ball control and tactical awareness.
“He excels in distributing play and breaking up opposition attacks, and it’s because of this that I have no doubt that Milorad will quickly become a fan favourite.”
