Brisbane Roar great Jack Hingert to depart after 14 record-breaking years: ‘A pillar of our club’

Brisbane Roar have confirmed the departure of legendary defender Jack Hingert after more than a decade with the Isuzu UTE A-League club.

Hingert leaves the Roar following a history-making 14 years in Brisbane, where the 34-year-old became the team’s record appearance holder with 309 matches in all competitions while winning a pair of Championships.

Just the 13th player to reach 300 Isuzu UTE A-League games last season, the Sri Lanka international will be honoured by the Roar in a presentation at a home fixture in the 2025-26 campaign.

Hingert was brought to Brisbane by Australian icon Ange Postecoglou in 2011 and won Championships in 2012 and 2014.

“Brisbane is my home, it’s been a huge, huge part of my life and my family’s life – I started my family here, I met my wife here,” Hingert said.

“I’ve lived in Brisbane now for longer than I’ve lived in Melbourne, I definitely feel like I’m a Brisbane boy and I always will be.

“Brisbane Roar is always going to be my club, regardless of my next opportunity and I’m always going to be a part of Brisbane Roar.
