Melbourne City winger Lourdes Bosch has received the first international call-up of her career, selected in Mexico’s squad for a two-game friendly series against Uruguay.
Born in the United States to Mexican and Cuban parents, Bosch joined City ahead of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season after starring in the US college system for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and California Baptist University.
Signed on a two-year deal with City, Bosch excelled through her first campaign in the Ninja A-League. The 23-year-old scored four goals and notched nine assists – the most of any player in the competition – to help her side secure the Premiers Plate after an “invincible” unbeaten regular season.
City failed to convert their first-place finish into a Championship title, with defeat to eventual Champions Central Coast Mariners in the Semi-Finals ending their 2024-25 season. But a second trophy is still up for grabs for Bosch and City, as they venture to Wuhan, China for the finals phase of the 2024-25 AFC Women’s Champions League campaign.

City will face Korean outfit Incheon Red Angels on Wednesday night at Wuhan Sports Centre Stadium in the Semi-Finals of the competition. Victory over the Red Angels would set up a meeting with either Wuhan Jianga or Ho Chi Minh City in the Women’s Champions League Final on Saturday, May 24.
Bosch will link up with the Mexico national team at the conclusion of City’s commitments in Asia, for friendlies against Uruguay on May 31 and July 4.
