Brisbane Roar FC have announced the signing of Australian midfielder Tyrese Francois on a multi-year contract, bolstering the club’s midfield options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old arrives at the Roar with a wealth of experience gained in England and Europe. Francois was born in Campbelltown, New South Wales, before relocating to London at a young age, where he rose through Fulham’s academy system and eventually broke into the first team, making his Premier League debut for the club. His development continued through loan stints at HNK Gorica in Croatia and Vejle Boldklub in Denmark, and he arrives in Brisbane fresh from a spell with Wigan Athletic in England’s League One.

At international level, Francois has featured for Australia’s U23 side, called up during the 2021 and 2022 windows as part of a talented generation of Australians plying their trade overseas.
“I’m really happy to be joining Brisbane Roar. I’m excited and looking forward to a new chapter back home in Australia. I can’t wait to get started, meet my new teammates and give my all for the fans.”
Sporting Director James Gow said the acquisition underlines the club’s ambition as it prepares for the season ahead.
