Melbourne City have announced CommBank Matildas midfielder Leah Davidson has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the club through to the end of the 2026-27 Ninja A-League season.
The 24-year-old central midfielder had a season to remember at City in 2024-25, contributing to the club’s invincible regular season and Premiership triumph as well as earning her very first Matildas call-up in December, 2024.
After scoring on her senior international debut against Chinese Taipei, Davidson has since racked up four caps, becoming a regular Matildas squad member.

City director of football Michael Petrillo described the re-signing of Davidson as an important piece of business as the Premiers target more Ninja A-League silverware in the coming years.
“Leah has become a key figure in our squad over the past five seasons, and we’re thrilled to see her extend her time at the club,” Petrillo said.
“She’s developed into a consistently high performer at (Ninja A-League) level, and her recent Matildas appearances are a reflection of the work she’s put in.
“We’re confident Leah will continue to be an integral member of our squad as we pursue more success over the coming seasons.”
Davidson is the sixth City squad member to re-sign this off-season, joining Taylor Otto, Malena Mieres, Rebekah Stott, Holly McNamara and Leticia McKenna in recommitting to the club.
“I’ve grown so much over my time at City – both on and off the pitch – and I couldn’t be happier to re-sign for another two seasons,” Davidson said.
“It’s been really special to be part of this group and contribute to the success we’ve had. I still feel like there’s so much more I can achieve here, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
