Melbourne City have announced captain Rebekah Stott has signed a two-year contract extension, to remain at the club until the end of the Ninja A-League 2026-27 season.
The New Zealand international holds City’s all-time women’s appearance record, with 125 games in City blue to her name.

Remarkably, Stott sits fifth on City’s all-time appearance leaderboard across the men’s and women’s senior sides – an incredible feat considering the Ninja A-League’s expansion to a full home-and-away regular season format occurred just two seasons ago.
“I’m incredibly proud to be continuing my journey with Melbourne City,” Stott said.
“This club means so much to me, it’s where I’ve made lifelong memories, lifted trophies, and it’s become home.”
“Striving for success is part of the culture at City, and I’m not done yet. We’ve achieved a lot together, but I’m still hungry. I want to keep pushing boundaries, chasing more silverware, and making more history with this amazing group.
“The culture we’ve built here is something really special. From the staff to the players and the fans, it’s a family. I’m excited to lead the team into this next chapter and see just how far we can go both in Australia and beyond.”

Stott is in her second stint at City, having rejoined the club in 2023 off the back of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The centre-back has since led City to back-to-back Ninja A-League Premiership titles, adding to the two Premierships and four Championships she had won in her first spell at the club.
In 2024-25, Stott captained City through an “invincible” unbeaten regular season. It was the third unbeaten regular season Stott had contributed to at City.
Described as “a true City legend” by the club upon confirmation of her fresh two-year contract, Stott was hailed by City director of football Michael Petrillo as the ultimate professional and an unrivalled leader.
“We’re thrilled to have Rebekah commit to another two seasons at Melbourne City,” Petrillo said.
“She is the ultimate professional and embodies everything we want our players to represent. Her leadership, drive and connection to the Club are second to none.
“Stotty sets the standard for those around her and continues to be a key figure in the success of our Women’s program. She has led the team brilliantly over the last few years, and we have no doubt she still has plenty of great football ahead of her.”
