Central Coast teen’s response to Sam Kerr comparisons and 2 clubs she wants to play for abroad

Central Coast Mariners sensation Tiana Fuller said it is “amazing” to be compared with CommBank Matildas legend Sam Kerr as the Ninja A-League champion reflected on an unforgettable season.

Fuller and the Mariners made history in last week’s Grand Final after Central Coast outlasted Melbourne Victory in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to win a maiden Championship in just their second season back in the competition following a 14-year hiatus.

The 17-year-old young gun coolly converted a spot-kick in the shoot-out to help the Mariners defy the odds at AAMI Park, where Australian superstar and Chelsea striker Kerr was in attendance.

Asked about comparisons with Kerr almost a week on from a magic night for Central Coast, Fuller told reporters: “I didn’t know she was at the game until after I saw on social media.

“But the comparisons are crazy. Like she’s one of the best in Australia and a very big name for like the Matilda.

“So to be being compared to her, that’s amazing for me.”

“Not a dream club, but it would be very nice to play for Arsenal or Barcelona.”
