Adelaide United legend Carl Veart has already found his next coaching job, with the Socceroo appointed the new head coach of the Subway Joeys after departing the Reds.
Veart takes over the Under-17 national team after five years as head coach of Adelaide, where he achieved three Semi-Final appearances and had a track record of bringing through several young stars including the likes of Nestory Irankunda, Mo Toure and Ethan Alagich.
Previously, the 55-year-old served as assistant coach of the Young Socceroos and assistant coach of the Joeys back in 2012.

“Carl was successfully appointed amidst a very competitive recruitment process, which speaks to both his individual qualities and the depth of coaches we have across Australian and international football,” Football Australia Interim CEO Heather Garriock said.
“His record as both a player and coach speak for themselves, and we have complete confidence in Carl’s ability to identify and nurture talent in a high-performance environment.
“The experience he brings from both the A-League, time previously with our junior national teams and his coaching career within the South Australian development and pathway system, gives Carl a great perspective on how these programs can best interact for the growth and development of our players.
“We’re very excited to welcome Carl to Football Australia and are looking forward to the role he can play within our pathway.”

Veart added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the national team pathway and contribute to the development of the next generation of Socceroos.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with many players at the beginning of their junior careers, watching them grow and develop as players for both club and country. It gives me a great sense of pride to see not only their achievements on the pitch, but the young men they become off it.

“The Subway Joeys is the first step on the pathway for any player dreaming of representing the senior national team, we play a vital role in starting their journey on the right foot and giving them the tools they need to be successful.
“I’m looking forward to arriving in Melbourne to watch the Emerging Socceroos Championships and getting to work with our staff ahead of September.”
