Scoring the all-important goal in the final of the AFC Cup to help his side defeat Oman’s Al Ahed 1-0, Kuol was a key member of the Mariners squad which won an unprecedented treble during the 2023-24 campaign as they also clinched both the Isuzu UTE A-League Premiership and Championship crowns.
“Staj (Wanderers head coach Alen Stajcic) and Naz (assistant coach Nahuel Arrarte) spoke to me – I’ve worked with them before, and what they’re aiming to achieve next season really excites me,” Kuol said.
“When I first came to Australia, I used to live in St Marys, so I’ve always felt like the Wanderers were a team I’d love to play for.
“To now have that opportunity and represent the West, I’m really excited for, as well as meeting everyone and playing in front of the RBB.
“I want to score goals, work hard for the team and the fans, and become an A-Leagues champion with the Wanderers.”

Now set to link up with head coach Alen Stajcic, who he was coached by at the Mariners during the Isuzu UTE A-League 2020-21 season, Kuol says he can’t wait get started in Red and Black.
“Alou’s a great fit for what we’re building here,” said Stajcic after the deal to sign the ex-Mariners was confirmed.
“He’s hardworking, eager to improve, and adds genuine quality in the final third. We believe this is the ideal environment for him to realise his full potential.”
Kuol is now likely to become a key figure in what will be a new-look frontline at CommBank Stadium this season following a series of big-name departures during the off-season with Johnny Warren Medallist Nicolas Milanovic sealing a move to Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen and striker Zac Sapsford also bound for Scotland after moving to Dundee United.
Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson has also left the Wanderers after two seasons in Western Sydney meaning Stajcic has been forced to enter the market in order to recruit a number of attacking weapons.
First snapping up Isuzu UTE A-Leagues icon Kosta Barbarouses on a one-year deal following his exit from Wellington Phoenix, Kuol becomes the second attacking signing of the off-season while young gun Marcus Younis also returns to the club following a loan spell in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven.
Meanwhile Stajcic has also been busy bolstering other areas of the pitch after recruiting Newcastle Jets defender Phillip Cancar and Melbourne City’s Championship winning midfielder Steven Ugarkovic on a two-year deal.
