Wanderers confirm exit of Young Socceroos MVP after 7 years

Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed club academy product Alexander Badolato has departed Wanderland following the mutual termination of his contract.

The 20-year-old joined Western Sydney’s academy in 2018 aged 13 and earned his first Wanderers scholarship contract in 2021.

Having made his senior debut for the club in the same year, Badolato made more than 20 appearances in Red and Black across the next four seasons before a loan move to Melbourne Victory midway through the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season, where he helped Victory reach the 2025 Grand Final.

Badolato will now be seeking fresh opportunities at a new club following his confirmed departure from the Wanderers. The Young Socceroos star joins Nicolas Milanovic (Aberdeen)Marcus AntonssonJack ClisbyDean PelekanosJeong Tae-WookTaiga Harper and Zac Sapsford (Dundee United) in departing the Wanderers following the end of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2024-25 season.
