Now 34, Bouzanis has garnered plenty of experience whilst playing overseas in both the UK and Europe and is now set to compete with goalkeeper Macklin Freke for the number one jersey.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be signing for the Roar, being such a big and successful club in the A-League,” said Bouzanis after putting pen-to-paper on his new deal.
“To come back and hear the ambitions of the club from Zac and Kaz to Michael and the coaching staff was a big factor in my decision.
He added: “I’m looking forward to giving 100% every week and winning games of football.”
Initially inking a one-year deal ahead of the upcoming campaign, Bouzanis’ deal includes an option to extend for a further season based on performances.

“Having previously worked with Dean, I am looking forward to seeing him back in the A-Leagues and playing for Brisbane Roar,” said Roar head coach Michael Valkanis.
“Dean is great with his feet and has strong ball distribution and along with his shot- stopping ability, will be invaluable for us in goals this season.
He added: “He will also bring great experience, leadership and a winning mentality to the club.”
Bouzanis becomes Brisbane’s fifth signing of the off-season following on from Western United forward Michael Ruhs, Bosnian youth international midfielder Milorad Stajic, Championship winner James McGarry from Aberdeen whilst defender Hosine Bility has also turned his loan into a permanent deal.
