Sydney FC have announced a real transfer coup, signing highly-rated Young Matildas midfielder Amelia Cassar on a three-year contract from rivals Western Sydney Wanderers.
The 17-year-old featured four times for the Wanderers during the Ninja A-League 2024-25 campaign but has now opted to join their fiercest rivals.

Most recently featuring for the Young Matildas in a recent training camp alongside several Sydney FC players, Cassar has now signed on with the Sky Blues until the end of the Ninja A-League 2027-28 season.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Sydney FC,” said Cassar after signing her new deal.
“This club has a fantastic history of developing young players and giving them the chance to succeed – and that’s exactly what I’m here to do.
She added: “I’m focused on working hard, learning as much as I can from Ante and the team, and doing everything I can to help us have a successful season.”

Pleased to have added more young quality to his side, Sydney FC Head Coach Ante Juric praised Cassar’s all-round ability after securing her services.
