Even in a star-studded Melbourne Victory squad, Murnane has made his mark so far in season 2015/16 with the reigning Hyundai A-League champions.
A solid left-back who loves getting forward, the 20-year-old is making the most of his opportunities this campaign.
And the stats back it up, making 10 clearances, eight interceptions and nine tackles.
He’s just as good going to other way, his pace makes him a threat, especially on the overlap and combining with Fahid Ben Khalfallah.
Murnane has provided two assists for goals in his five appearances, had eight crosses from open play and got two shots on goal.
The youngster has also attempted 220 passes, with an accuracy rate of more than 80 percent.
Melbourne born and raised, Murnane signed with Victory’s youth team in 2012 after playing with Port Melbourne in the PS4 NPL Victoria.
A year later he made his Hyundai A-League debut in the white-hot atmosphere of the Big Blue, a match that finished 1-1 at Allianz Stadium.
After a couple of seasons of having to bide his time and wait for his chance, Murnane now looks to be a key player for Victory going forward.
And also one youngster to keep an eye on in the race for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year award this season.
