Unavailable: 6. Tomoki IMAI (injured), 31. Adisu BAYEW (injured), 42. Rhys BOZINOVSKI (national team), 99. Aleksandar PRIJOVIC (injured)
Squad analysis: Midfielder Tongo Doumbia is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after a high-grade hamstring injury suffered late in last weekend’s clash with Sydney FC, whilst Aleksandar Prijović misses out once again. The Serbian striker was named in John Aloisi’s squad for Round 2 but failed to make the match day squad as he recovers from a toe injury.
In a boost to Western’s chances against the Bulls, Italian maestro Alessandro Diamanti is named in the Western squad and will push for his first minutes of the season on Friday night.
Macarthur FC squad: Filip KURTO (gk), Jake McGING, Tomi USKOK, Jonathan ASPROPOTAMITIS, Ivan VUJICA, Kearyn BACCUS, Daniel DE SILVA, Daniel ARZANI, Lachlan ROSE, Al Hassan TOURE, Nick SUMAN (gk), Matt MILLAR, Charles M’MOMBWA, Jake HOLLMAN, Anthony CARTER, Jed DREW, Craig NOONE, Jerry SKOTADIS, Bachana ARABULI
In: Bachana ARABULI, Kearyn BACCUS
Outs: Mario WILLIAMS, Aleks SUSNJAR, Ulises DAVILA
Squad analysis: Experienced midfielder Kearyn Baccus and Georgian striker Bachana Arabuli step into the Macarthur squad as Dwight Yorke looks to deal with the significant absence of club captain Ulises Davila, who succumbed to a hamstring injury early in last week’s clash with Adelaide United.
Davila is currently in 28.2% of all fantasy teams heading into Round 3.
WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS v BRISBANE ROAR
Western Sydney squad: 1. Daniel MARGUSH (GK), 2.Gabriel CLEUR, 3.Adama TRAORE, 5.Tomi MRCELA, 6.Marcelo GUEDES (C), 7.Ramy NAJJARINE, 8.Oliver BOZANIC, 9.Kusini YENGI, 10.Milos NINKOVIC, 11.Sulejman KRPIC, 12.Ruon TONGYIK, 17.Romain AMALFITANO, 19.Daniel WILMERING, 20.Lawrence THOMAS (GK), 21.Jarrod CARLUCIO, 23.Yeni NGABKOTO, 26.Brandon BORRELLO, 28.Calem NIEUWENHOF, 33.Alex BONETIG, 35.Zac SAPSFORD

Outs: 32.Nathaniel BLAIR (not selected)
Unavailable: 30.Jack WARSHAWSKY (national team duty), 36.Alessandro LOPANE (national team duty), 37.Alex BADOLATO (national team duty)’
Squad analysis: The Wanderers have named both Oliver Bozanic and Yeni Ngbakoto in the extended squad for the second week running; the two key signings were included ahead of Round 2 but didn’t make the final squad which defeated Melbourne Victory. Daniel Wilmering joins Bozanic and Ngbakoto in contesting for a place in the squad to take on Brisbane.
Look out for Calem Nieuwenhof this weekend as the young central midfielder looks to continue his impressive start to life at his new club. The young Wanderers gun caught the eye in a best afield display against Victory last week, much to the delight of his new fans after an off-season switch from Sydney FC.
Brisbane Roar: 1.Macklin FREKE (gk), 2.Scott NEVILLE, 3.Jordan COURTNEY-PERKINS, 5.Thomas ALDRED ©, 6.Connor CHAPMAN, 7.Rahmat AKBARI, 8.Riku DANZAKI, 9.Charles AUSTIN, 10.Nikola MILEUSNIC, 11. In: None
Out: None
Unavailable: 13.Henry HORE (Injured)
Squad analysis: It’s more of the same for Warren Moon and the Roar, with no players incoming or outgoing from an extended squad after a 2-0 loss to Melbourne City in Round 2. Charlie Austin will look to continue leading the line for the Roar, and will hope to find more opportunities to score after a goalless start to life in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
NEWCASTLE JETS v WELLINGTON PHOENIX
Newcastle Jets squad: Jack Duncan (gk), 2. Dane Ingham, 3. Jason Hoffman, 5. Matthew Jurman (co-captain), 6. Brandon O’Neill (co-captain), 7. Trent Buhagiar, 8. Beka Dartsmelia, 9. Beka Mikeltadze, 10. Reno Piscopo, 11. Jaushua Sotirio, 14. Mohamed Al-Taay, 17. Kosta Grozos, 18. Daniel Stynes, 19. Callum Timmins, 20. Michael Weier (gk), 23. Rory Jordan, 24. James McGarry, 25. Carl Jenkinson (co-captain), 26. Archie Goodwin, 30. Noah James (gk), 32. Angus Thurgate, 33. Mark Natta.
In: Archie Goodwin
Out: Jordan Elsey (suspended)
Squad analysis: Archie Goodwin is back in the Newcastle Jets squad after missing Round 2 through international duty with the Young Socceroos. Beka Mikeltadze got off the mark in Round 2 – Newcastle’s first game of the season after the opening-round washout of the F3 Derby – and the Georgian striker will look to continue to find the back of the net and keep pace with golden boot leader Jamie Maclaren.
Wellington Phoenix squad: 3. Finn SURMAN, 4. Scott WOOTTON, 5. Steven UGARKOVIC, 6. Tim PAYNE, 7. Kosta BARBAROUSES, 8. Ben OLD, 9. Oskar ZAWADA, 11. Bozhidar KRAEV, 13. Nicholas PENNINGTON, 17. Callan ELLIOT, 18. Ben WAINE, 19. Sam SUTTON, 20. Oli SAIL (gk), 21. Joshua LAWS, 23. Clayton LEWIS, 24. Oskar VAN HATTUM, 35. Noah KARUNARATNE, 36. Riley BIDOIS, 40. Alex PAULSEN (gk)
In: 35. Noah KARUNARATNE (promoted), 36. Riley BIDOIS (promoted)
Out: 12. Lucas MAURAGIS (ineligible to play parent club)
Unavailable: 10. David Ball (injured), 12. Lucas MAURAGIS (ineligible to play parent club), 14. AlexRUFER (injured), 31. Yan SASSE (suspended)
Squad analysis: Lucas Mauragis is ineligible to play against the Jets after his off-season loan from Newcastle to Wellington, leaving a vacancy in the Phoenix defence for head coach Ufuk Talay to fill. Higher up the park, the ‘Nix had Brazilian Yan Sasse’s three-game suspension reduced from three games to two – meaning he’s ineligible to contend for one of his side’s two number 10 positions for one more week.
Ben Waine, meanwhile is in brilliant form after scoring two goals in two games to start the campaign. The ‘Nix striker came off the bench in Round 1 before playing in Sasse’s place in Round 2 – and is impressing early doors.
MELBOURNE VICTORY v MELBOURNE CITY
Melbourne Victory squad: 1.Matt ACTON, 3.Enrique LOPEZ, 4.Rai MARCHAN, 6.Leigh BROXHAM, 7.Chris IKONOMIDIS, 8.Josh BRILLANTE, 11.Ben FOLAMI, 14.Jay BARNETT, 15.Geroge TIMOTHEOU, 16.Stefan NIGRO, 17.Luis NANI, 18.Nick D’AGOSTINO, 20.Paul IZZO, 21.Roderick MIRANDA, 22.Jake BRIMMER, 23.Nathan KONSTANDOPOULOS, 24.Nishan VELUPILLAY, 25.Noah SMITH, 26.Lleyton BROOKS, 28.Will WILSON
In: 14.Jay BARNETT (promoted), 28.Will WILSON (promoted)
Out: nil
Unavailable: 2.Jason GERIA (injured), 5.Matt SPIRANOVIC (injured), 9.Tomi JURIC (injured)
Squad analysis: Victory have a point to prove in this weekend’s Melbourne Derby after a disappointing home defeat to Western Sydney. Expect Tony Popovic’s side to come out swinging in Round 3.
Jason Geria, Matt Spiranovic and Tomi Juric all remain sidelined with injuries, whilst Chris Ikonomidis will continue to push for one of two wing positions which Ben Folami and Luis Nani have started from in the opening two rounds. Keep an eye on the team news in the hour prior to this epic encounter to see whether Popovic decides to stick or twist.
Melbourne City squad: 1. Tom GLOVER (GK), 2. Scott GALLOWAY, 3. Scott JAMIESON (C), 6. Thomas LAM, 7. Mathew LECKIE, 8. Richard VAN DER VENNE, 9. Jamie MACLAREN, 13. Aiden O’NEILL, 14. Valon BERISHA, 15. Andrew NABBOUT, 18. Jordon HALL, 22. Curtis GOOD, 23. Marco TILIO, 25. Callum TALBOT, 30. Luke ORESTI, 33. Matthew SUTTON (GK), 34. Arion SULEMANI, 36. Kerrin STOKES, 37. Max CAPUTO, 38. Jordan BOS.
In: 22. Curtis GOOD (returns from injury), 34. Arion SULEMANI (promoted), 37. Max CAPUTO (promoted).
Out: 16. Taras GOMULKA (suspension).
Unavailable: 4. Nuno REIS (hamstring), 10. Florin BERENGUER (hamstring).
Squad analysis: Curtis Good returns from injury to compete for a spot in central defence for City – a potentially crucial in considering traditional left-back Scott Jamieson has lined up at centre-back in his absence.
Focus will undoubtedly be on head coach Patrick Kisnorbo’s selection of his front three once more as Socceroos’ World Cup hopeful Marco Tilio continues to ride the bench. The early-season form of Mathew Leckie, Andrew Nabbout, Jamie Maclaren and Valon Berisha has left the young City star with little opportunity to earn a starting berth in the City XI.
SYDNEY FC v ADELAIDE UNITED
Sydney FC squad: 1. Andrew REDMAYNE (GK), 2. James DONACHIE, 5. Connor O’TOOLE, , 8. Paulo RETRE, 9. Adam LE FONDRE, 10. Joe LOLLEY, 11. Robert MAK, 12. Pat WOOD, 16. Patrick YAZBEK, 17. Anthony CACERES, 18. Diego CABALLO, 19. Adrian SEGECIC, 20. Thomas HEWARD-BELLE (GK), 21. Alex PARSONS, 22. Max BURGESS, 23. Rhyan GRANT, 25. Jaiden KUCHARSKI, 26. Luke BRATTAN ©, 28. Jake GIRDWOOD-REICH, 29. Aaron GURD.
In: 5. Connor O’TOOLE (promoted), 19. Adrian SEGECIC (return from international duty).
Out: None
Unavailable: 4.Alex WILKINSON (c) (injured), 6. Jack RODWELL (injured)
Squad analysis: With skipper Alex Wilkinson and Jack Rodwell remaining sidelined comes the opportunity for Aaron Gurd to continue at centre-back. The 21-year-old made his A-League Men debut last week, starting in a 3-1 win over Western United. His fantasy price tag of $150,700 makes Gurd an excellent option to consider to grow value in your squad should he continue to feature in Steve Corica’s plans.
Adelaide United squad: 1.James DELIANOV (gk), 2.Harry VAN DER SAAG, 3.Ben WARLAND, 6.Louis D’ARRIGO, 7.Ryan KITTO, 8.ISAÍAS, 9.Hiroshi IBUSUKI, 11.Craig GOODWIN (c), 13.Lachlan BARR, 14.George BLACKWOOD, 21.Javi LÓPEZ, 26.Ben HALLORAN, 28.JUANDE, 35.Luka JOVANOVIĆ, 41.Alexandar POPOVIĆ, 46.Joe GAUCI (gk), 47.Asad KASUMOVIĆ, 49.Musa TOURE, 55.Ethan ALAGICH, 66.Nestory IRANKUNDA
In: 35.Luka JOVANOVIĆ (promoted), 41.Alexandar POPOVIĆ (returns from illness)
Out: nil
Unavailable: 10.Zach CLOUGH (quad), 27.Joshua CAVALLO (spleen), 31.BERNARDO (foot), 37.Jonny YULL (back)
Squad analysis: Alexandar Popović has recovered from illness in time to feature in Carl Veart’s squad set to face Sydney – but there’s bad news on the injury front with both Zach Clough and Josh Cavallo ruled out.
Clough succumbed to a quad injury during training prior to last week’s clash with Macarthur and is set to miss two months of football. Cavallo, meanwhile, has an enlarged spleen and is being monitored closely by the Reds’ medical team.
CENTRAL COAST MARINERS v PERTH GLORY
Central Coast squad: 2. Thomas AQUILINA, 3. Brian KALTAK, 4. Joshua NISBET, 6. Maximilien BALARD, 7. Samuel SILVERA, 9. Jason CUMMINGS, 11. Beni NKOLOLO, 13. Harrison STEELE, 14. Garang KUOL, 15. Storm ROUX, 17. Kelechi JOHN, 18. Jacob FARRELL, 20. Daniel VUKOVIC (c), (gk), 21. Michael RUHS, 23. Daniel Hall, 24. Yaren SOZER (gk), 25. Nectarios TRIANTIS, 29. Dor JOK, 90. Paul AYONGO, 98. MARCO TULIO
In: 14. Garang KUOL (return from international duty), 23. Daniel HALL (return from suspension), 25. Nectarios TRIANTIS (return from international duty)
Out: 22. Cameron WINDUST (not selected), James Bayliss (not selected), Sasha Kuzevski (not selected)
Unavailable: 10. Matheus MORESCHE (injured), 26. Bradley TAPP (injured)
Squad analysis: “Garangski” is back!
Fans around the A-League Men have been desperate to see the Central Coast star in action prior to the World Cup and his January move to Newcastle United – and have been starved of opportunity to do so over the opening rounds.
In Round 1 it was the F3 Derby washout keeping Kuol off the park, then it was Young Socceroos duty in Kuwait City over Round 2. Now the teenage winger is back and ready to contend for minutes, along with fellow Young Socceroo Nectarios Triantis and Daniel Hall who returns from suspension.
Perth Glory squad: 33.Liam REDDY (gk), 2.John KOUTROUMBIS, 5.Mark BEEVERS, 6.Aaron MCENEFF, 7.Ryan WILLIAMS, 8.Mustafa AMINI (c), 9.Bruno FORNAROLI, 10.Salim KHELIFI, 11.Ben AZUBEL, 12.Luke IVANOVIC, 14.Jack CLISBY, 16.Keegan JELACIC, 19.Zach DUNCAN, 20.Giordano COLLI, 23.Mitch OXBORROW, 29.Darryl LACHMAN, 30.Pierce CLARK (gk), 37.Jacob MUIR, 43.Adam ZIMARINO, 77.Stefan COLAKOVSKI
In: 16.Keegan JELACIC, 43.Adam ZIMARINO, 77.Stefan COLAKOVSKI
Out: 18.David WILLIAMS
Unavailable: 1.Brad JONES (gk) (injured), 13.Cameron COOK (gk) (injured), 18.David WILLIAMS (illness), 21.Anthony BURKE-GILROY (injured), 22.Adrian SARDINERO (injured)
Squad analysis: David Wiliams drops out of the Perth Glory squad but there’s three ins for Round 3: Keegan Jelacic, Adam Zimarino and Stefan Colakovski. Aaron McEneff will hope to get back into the starting XI after coming off the bench in Round 2 and converting from the penalty spot against Newcastle Jets.
