‘Huge positive’ as Kucharski signs new long-term deal with Perth Glory

Jaiden Kucharski has put pen-to-paper on a new contract that will see him remain at Perth Glory until the end of the 2028-29 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 23-year-old headed to Western Australia ahead of the 2025-26 A-League campaign having previously made more than 60 appearances for Sydney FC.

A 2023 Australia Cup winner, Kucharski marked his Glory debut with a goal in the 2-2 draw with Wellington Phoenix in the opening round of the season and went on to score three goals in total whilst also registering three assists.

One of those goals, a spectacular Round 15 strike against Auckland FC at HBF Park, earned Kucharski the club’s Goal of the Season Award and was also short-listed for the A-League Men’s Goal of the Year.

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis is confident that the former Australia Under-17 international will continue to be a key attacking weapon for Glory.

CONTRACT NEWS: Versatile defender with ‘real potential’ inks new Sydney FC deal

“We’ve seen from day one just how talented JK is and I believe that he is only going to get better,” said Lazaridis.

“He has great pace and mobility which makes him very hard to defend against and on top of that, is a clinical finisher.

“JK really suits the way we want to play, he gets our Members and fans out of their seats and having him sign a long-term deal is a huge positive.”

Kucharski is now the seventh player Perth Glory have tied down during the off-season, whilst Head Coach Adam Griffiths has also signed a new deal.

Having already handed club captain Adam Taggart a new one-year contract extension, Perth have also locked down young talents Giovanni De Abreu and Sebastian Despotovski.

Furthermore Stefan Colacovski has re-signed for a further season whilst star import Tom Lawrence has also inked a new two-year contract to remain in Western Australia.

The club has wasted little time in reshaping their squad with nine players exiting thus far, including Lachie Wales, Cameron Cook and Joel Anasmo.

Glory have also brought in former academy player Matthew Dench on a two-year deal following the defender’s departure from Brisbane Roar.
