Glory skipper signs one-year contract extension

Adam Taggart has signed a one-year contract extension with boyhood club Perth Glory.

The 32 year-old extends his stay following a milestone season in which he took his goal tally in purple to 61 and became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Isuzu UTE A-League.

The centre-forward has made 133 league appearances for Perth Glory, sitting sixth on their all-time appearances list.

“Taggs has already firmly established himself as a true Glory great,” said Glory Football Director, Stan Lazaridis.

“A natural finisher who can score all kinds of goals, he is a constant threat in the final third and his career record of a goal basically every other game places him right up there with the very best.”

“We know how much Perth Glory means to Taggs, how he went from supporting the club as a boy to becoming its captain and record A-League scorer and we know how desperate he is to see it achieve the ultimate success.”

Taggart is the fourth player to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with Perth Glory since the end of last season. He joins Giovanni De Abreu, Stefan Colakovski, and Sebastian Despotovski in the list of players renewing their commitment to the club following the contract extension of head coach, Adam Griffiths.

The Perth local will be hoping to build on his seven goal involvements in the 2025/26 campaign and take his club to greater heights after their 10th-placed finish.

“It’s great to have him on board again for what is a very exciting season ahead,” said Lazaridis.
