Central Coast Mariners debutant Luis Garcia has urged his new side to learn from their mistakes following Saturday night’s 2-1 loss to Western Sydney Wanderers.
The former Liverpool attacker immediately sparked the hosts into life with his second half introduction but costly errors from fullbacks Storm Roux and Michael Neill consigned the Mariners to a heartbreaking late defeat.
Speaking to Fox Sports following his first Hyundai A-League appearance, Garcia called for more of the “unbelievable” effort of his teammates in clawing their way back into the game.

“We have to learn from the mistakes,” Garcia said.
“There has been one in the first half and another one in the second half. It’s alright if you are young, (and) they are young, but they will have to learn fast.
“In the second-half, if we play like this for the rest of the games, I’m sure the results aren’t going to be the same.”
Garcia played a key part in Central Coast’s second-half revival including initiating the equaliser just minutes after being injected by Tony Walmsley.
The Spaniard looked positively to the remainder of the season after a promising first 30 minutes in yellow.
“From the first second I was on the pitch I enjoyed it,” he said.
“The crowd was fantastic today. We hope the supporters are here until the end of the season and hopefully we can give them a lot of joy.”
