Very grateful to @genova_world @genova_international and the universe for this amazing opportunity to live out a childhood dream and play in Spain. Ill be partnering up with another Australian and good friend @strati_xynas for a guest stint @racingmurciafc . This club has huge ambition to be playing in Laliga within the next 4 years and to share the journey is a real honour for myself but more importantly giving opportunities and pathways here in Australia for young players to create their own football journeys. #Repost @genova_world with @get_repost ・・・ Very Proud to announce one of my favorite Socceroos Archie Thompson @10archie just signed here in Spain ?? for Racing Murcia FC @racingmurciafc as of 1st September for opening game. Elsey expecting FFA Cup shootout

They both scored five goals in the Round of 32 and Jordan Elsey is predicting another shootout when his Adelaide United take on free-scoring Olympic FC in the FFA Cup 2019 Round of 16 on Wednesday night.

Both the Reds (over Melbourne Knights) and Olympic FC (over Bayswater City) cruised to 5-2 victories in the Round of 32.

Despite sitting fourth in the Queensland NPL, Ben Cahn’s Olympic are the competition’s top scorers, convincing Elsey his defence will need to stay sharp at Perry Park.

“They’re obviously a good team, they’ve made it this far and we’ve seen the video and they’re a very attacking team and we look forward to stopping that,” Elsey told reporters at Adelaide airport on Tuesday.

“We want to score goals and create chances too so it should be an exciting game.

“They are very fast up front and they create a lot of chances. So it’s about us being aware of that and playing our own game.”

While Norwegian striker Kristian Opseth hasn’t travelled to Brisbane, Elsey confirmed George Blackwood was part of the Reds squad after overcoming his injury issues.

Adelaide United are aiming to reach the last eight of the FFA Cup for the fifth time in six years of the competition.
