Sydney FC have confirmed defender Alex Grant has departed the club after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
The experienced centre-back leaves the Sky Blues after joining midway through the 2025/26 campaign, making 31 appearances across all competitions and scoring twice.
Grant made his Sydney debut in the club’s memorable 3-2 away victory over Bangkok United in the AFC Champions League Two and played a key role during the Sky Blues’ run to the semi-finals.

“I’ve met some fantastic people, shared the dressing room with a terrific group of team-mates and experienced the incredible support of our Members and fans, who have been outstanding throughout my time here.
“There are plenty of memories I’ll take with me, particularly our run to the AFC Champions League Two Semi-Finals. Those nights were special and something I’ll always remember.
“I’d like to wish everyone at Sydney FC every success for the future and I’ll always be grateful for my time at this great club.”
