The matter was referred to the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee by the independent Match Review Panel (MRP), which concluded Hayashi had committed the offence of “unsporting conduct towards a match official” – an offence that carries a minimum sanction of four games (mandatory one-game suspension plus three additional games).
However, the MRP referred the matter to the Disciplinary Ethics Committee after determining the Roar import had committed a Category 2 offence.
The independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, having regard to all the circumstances, had to determine whether the offence is sufficiently proven to warrant the imposition of an additional sanction in addition to the Mandatory Match Suspension (MMS), which must always be served.

The independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee concluded that Hayashi must serve a three-game ban, being the MMS plus two additional matches to be served in the 2025-26 Ninja A-Leagues season. The Committee will publish the reasons for the determination in due course.
Accordingly, Hayashi is suspended for their first three matches of next season but is otherwise eligible to play in other regulated football matches before the 2025-26 Ninja A-League campaign.
