Brisbane Roar forward Henry Hore has officially joined K League 1 outfit Gangwon FC on loan until January, but only after penning a new contract extension with his Isuzu UTE A-League club until the end of the 2025-26 season.
In a further boost for Brisbane, the Roar will also receive a loan fee from their South Korean counterparts in order to procure the services of Hore, who will return to Suncorp Stadium in January.
A key component for a Brisbane side who fell short of securing finals football last season, Hore found the back of the net seven times and provided one assist from 20 Isuzu UTE A-League matches.

“I’m super excited,” said Hore about his upcoming loan spell with Gangwon FC. “It’s a very good league. I’m very thankful to the Brisbane Roar management for allowing me to go and pursue this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
After signing professional terms with Brisbane Roar back in 2021, Hore has established himself as a regular within the first-team setup having made 66 league appearances, scoring 17 goals and expressed his delight at extending his stay with the club.
“It’s been great. I came up through the youth system,” he said. “Growing up, I always came to the games and pretty much dreamt of playing at Suncorp, playing at my hometown club in front of friends and family. It’s something special.”
He added: “Super stoked to be signing an extension with the club, committing my future to Brisbane. It’s extra special because I want to get the club back to where it was a few years ago, I want to be successful with the club and win trophies. It’s a dream to play for the club that I grew up watching.”
The 24-year-old’s short-term exit is the latest in a series of moves made by the club as they revamp their side for what will be head coach Ruben Zadkovich’s first full season in charge.
Following the departures of nine first team players including club captain Tom Aldred and defender Kai Trewin, Roar have been busy in the transfer market bringing in new faces ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Lebanese international midfielder Walid Shour and former Perth Glory forward Adam Zimarino mean Zadkovich and his coaching staff now have seven new recruits to work with following the arrivals of former Adelaide trio Ben Warland, Harry Van Der Saag and Ben Halloran.
Elsewhere, they’ve also secured the signature of United States youth International defender Marcus Ferkranus while Olyroos defender Hosine Bility has joined on a season-long loan from Portuguese side Clube Desportivo de Mafra.
