Melbourne City have handed experienced defender Harrison Delbridge a new one-year deal ahead of the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season whilst academy graduate Ryan Kalms has also inked a new deal.
Having spent three seasons with Melbourne City from 2017 to 2020, Delbridge returned to City during the January transfer window following a five year stint in Korea.
Delbridge made six appearances following his return in January, bringing his total to 74 appearances across all competitions during his two spells in City Blue.

“While it was disappointing the way last season ended, I couldn’t have been happier to be back at City,” Delbridge said after signing his new deal.
“It’s a place that feels like home and I’m excited to be here for another season. I’m looking forward to getting to work in pre-season and doing everything I can to help the team have a successful year.”
Meanwhile academy graduate Kalms has put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal to remain at the club.
The 20-year-old previously signed his first professional contract in October 2025 and will add further defensive depth to Aurelio Vidmar’s squad ahead of the upcoming season.
“I’m really proud to extend my time at Melbourne City,” Kalms said.
“The Club has played such a big role in my journey since joining the Academy, and I’m grateful for the support I’ve received from my coaches, teammates and staff throughout that time.
“Being around the first-team environment over the past year has been a fantastic experience and has helped me grow both as a player and a person.

“I’m excited to keep learning, keep improving and do everything I can to earn further opportunities in the seasons ahead.”
Melbourne City Director of Football Michael Petrillo said maintaining continuity was important as the Club continues to build its squad for the season ahead.Â
“We’re pleased to have both Harrison and Ryan re-signed as we continue to strengthen our squad heading into the new season,” Petrillo said.

“Harrison brings valuable experience and leadership to our group. He understands our Club, the standards we expect, and we know the qualities he provides both on and off the pitch.
“Ryan is another excellent example of the pathway we’ve built at Melbourne City. He has developed immensely through our Academy system, earned his opportunity in the first-team environment and continues to demonstrate the qualities we value highly both as a player and a person.
“We’re looking forward to seeing both players continue to contribute to the squad in the season ahead.”
