Wanderers seal transfer coup as treble winner returns home

Western Sydney Wanderers have completed the signing of exciting young attacker Miguel Di Pizio on a two-year deal.

A treble winner with the Central Coast Mariners, Di Pizio left polytec Stadium at the end of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League season after a trophy-laden stint in Gosford.

The 20-year-old forward wrote his name into A-Leagues history whilst on the Central Coast, becoming the youngest ever goalscorer in a Grand Final when he slotted home the Mariners’ second goal of their 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory in the 2023-24 campaign.

Di Pizio also played a crucial role during both the Mariners’ AFC Cup  and Premiership triumphs that season and left Gosford as a fan favourite.

He now returns to the place where it all started, with Di Pizio putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal having previously been a part of the Wanderers’ academy.

“I feel really blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to come back and play for my hometown club,” said Di Pizio.

“To come back as a first-team player is a real blessing. My time here in the Academy was filled with great coaches and great people, and I made a lot of lifelong friends along the way.

“Members and fans can expect creativity in the front third, plenty of link-up play and hopefully some goals and assists as well.

“I’m looking forward to making my mark at this club. I’m honoured to wear this jersey and grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to get started.”

Di Pizio has so far made 51 appearances in his A-Leagues career whilst also representing Australia at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in 2023.

“Miguel is a player we know extremely well. He came through our Academy system and has gone on to prove himself at the highest level of Australian football,” said Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director, Mal Impiombato.

“Bringing him back to Western Sydney is something we’re genuinely proud of.

“He has already achieved a lot in his young career, winning major trophies, gaining valuable A-League experience and representing his country. All of these attributes combined determined why Miguel was a key target for our Club.

“At just 20 years of age, we believe there is still enormous potential in Miguel’s game.

“He’s ambitious, hardworking and hungry to continue developing, and we believe Western Sydney is the perfect environment for him to take the next step in his career.”
