Central Coast Mariners midfielder Isabel Gomez and Melbourne Victory Juan Mata were the big winners, claiming the Julie Dolan Medal and Johnny Warren Medal respectively.
But there were many more accolades up for grabs at the A-Leagues’ night of nights, including Coach of the Year, Young Footballer of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and so much more.

Isuzu UTE A-League Men
Melbourne Victory superstar Juan Mata claimed the Johnny Warren Medal after a stunning individual season.
Mata registered an incredible 13 assists in his first year at the club as Victory finished fourth on the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder.

He topped the Johnny Warren Medal voting count with a stunning 36 votes, ahead of Melbourne City captain Aziz Behich in second, Auckland FC forward Lachie Brook in third, whilst Brook’s Auckland teammates Louis Verstraete and Jesse Randall rounded out the top five.

The Young Footballer of the Year award went to Newcastle Jets ace Eli Adams, who was the standout winner following a sensational season with the Premiership and Australia Cup winners.

The Shark Fan Player of the Year Award was claimed by Newcastle left-back Daniel Wilmering, who established himself as a crucial part of a Jets side that soared to their first ever Premiership trophy.


As expected it was a busy night for the Jets with rookie Head Coach Mark Milligan being named Coach of the Year after guiding the Jets to two trophies in his first year as a Head Coach.

Having already scooped the league’s top individual honour Victory maestro Juan Mata won the eToro Playmaker of the Year award, while Brisbane Roar loanee Youstin Salas claimed Goal of the Year honours for his stunning strike against Melbourne City in the penultimate round of the season.
Sydney FC goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares was named Goalkeeper of the Year and scooped the Save of the Year award having also claimed the Golden Glove award in what’s been an incredible campaign for the gloveman.

Ninja A-League Women
Central Coast Mariners and Matildas star Isabel Gomez took out the Julie Dolan Medal for the first time in her career, after an outstanding campaign in the Ninja A-League.
Gomez sealed the award after what was a thrilling race to the finish against Melbourne City and Matildas star Holly McNamara.
SAFE HANDS: Adelaide United starlet Melegh earns maiden Matildas call-up

Gomez finished the voting count on 20 votes, one ahead of McNamara in second while City teammate Aideen Keane and Canberra United legend Michelle Heyman finished level on 17 votes and Canberra’s Sacha Grove finished fifth.

The Young Footballer of the Year award went to Wellington Phoenix’s magnificent teenage star Pia Vlok, who’s incredible breakout season helped fire the Nix to the Ninja A-League Gand Final whilst Wellington Phoenix teammate Brooke Nunn took home the eToro Playmaker of the Year award.

The Shark Fan Player of the Year Award went to Canberra United’s dynamic midfielder Bethany Gordon, who swept the voting to take out the fan-led award after an excellent season at McKellar Park.

Canberra United boss Antoni Jagarinec was named Coach of the Year after guiding his side back to the Finals Series having also qualified for the finals last season in what was his first year as a Head Coach.

Melbourne Victory shot-stopper Courtney Newbon was named Goalkeeper of the Year, while Adelaide United keeper Claudia Jenkins took out the Save of the Year award for her stunning triple save against the Jets.
Central Coast Mariners midfield maestro Peta Trimis won the Goal of the Year award for her astonishing effort against Melbourne Victory.
