Sydney FC have bolstered their Isuzu UTE A-League attacking stocks with the signing of former Real Madrid and LaLiga striker Victor Campuzano.
Campuzano joins Sydney on a two-year deal from Spanish club Sporting Gijon.
The 28-year-old forward arrives at the peak of his career and with a wealth of experience in Spain, where he has amassed over 200 professional appearances.

Campuzano started his career in Espanyol’s youth system before moving to Real Madrid Castilla – the world powerhouse’s reserve team, in 2016. He spent two years in Madrid, playing alongside current Melbourne Victory star Nikos Vergos, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Los Blancos star Federico Valverde and Paris Saint-Germain sensation Achraf Hakimi, while scoring eight goals.

He returned to Espanyol in 2018, making his LaLiga debut. The Spaniard also scored five goals in eight UEFA Europa League appearances. Espanyol is where Campuzano was team-mates with Adelaide United legend Javi Lopez and former A-Leagues star Victor Sanchez.
Sporting Gijon is his most recent club, making 111 appearances across all competitions in Spain’s second tier, scoring 14 goals and supplying four assists.
“I’m excited to be joining the Sky Blue family and take this beautiful challenge,” Campuzano said.
“At 28, I know these are the peak years of my career, and I want to give everything I have to this club.
“My aim is to bring goals, energy and experience to help the team achieve success, and I believe Sydney FC is the perfect place for me to do that.
“I’m ready to embrace the challenge, push myself to new levels, and hopefully create unforgettable moments for our members.”
