Frustrated Perth Glory skipper Andy Keogh says his side have no one to blame but themselves after slumping to a heavy 3-0 defeat at home against Adelaide United on Friday night.
Glory were made to pay for some glaring defensive lapses for the loss, with goals to Daniel Adlung, Nathan Konstandopoulos and Johan Absalonsen seeing Kenny Lowe’s men drop out of the top six.
The three-goal loss equals Glory’s biggest-ever defeat on home soil and leaves them with work to do in the second half of the campaign if they want to play in the finals.
“It’s disappointing. It’s our fault,” a shattered Keogh told Fox Sports.
“We worked on their goal kicks but one player doesn’t do his job and they go down the other end and score.
“We don’t track the runner for the next goal and the last goal is just whatever isn’t it? He gets fouled maybe, maybe he doesn’t, but the game’s over by then.
“It’s just disappointing, people aren’t doing their jobs. You just have to call a spade a spade and admit people aren’t doing their jobs when you lose games.”
The resounding loss caps a horror week for Glory following their 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Sydney FC last weekend.
The nine goals they have shipped in the last two rounds is the most-ever by the club in two consecutive Hyundai A-League fixtures.
Asked how they can pick themselves up ahead of a clash with Melbourne City at home on Tuesday, Keogh said: “Just recover properly, eat well, rest and come back with a good attitude on Tuesday to try and put things right.”
