Isuzu UTE A-League guns dominate Young Socceroos squad to face Argentina

Fifteen Isuzu UTE A-League young guns have been called up by the Subway Young Socceroos for a pair of mouth-watering friendlies against powerhouse nation Argentina.

More than half of Australia’s 23-man squad have been based in the Isuzu UTE A-League in 2024-25 ahead of two friendlies against Argentina Under-20s – the age group’s most successful country – on June 7 and June 10.

Adelaide United and Sydney FC have four representatives apiece in Trevor Morgan’s squad, while Perth Glory have Jaylan Pearman included ahead of his move to English outfit QPR as the Young Socceroos prepare for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in September.

Central Coast Mariners:
Jai Ajanovic, Dylan Peraic-Cullen
Macarthur Bulls:

Melbourne Victory:
Alexander Badolato, Josh Inserra
Perth Glory:
Jaylan Pearman
Sydney FC:

“It’s a great opportunity to take on one of the best teams in the age group in similar conditions to what we can expect at the World Cup in Chile – matching what was done prior to the U20 Asian Cup by playing against Japan,” Morgan said.

“Our Asian Cup campaign established high standards for the team. We want to continue to improve, and the focus is now on taking our performance to the next level.

“I’m sure everyone is looking forward to getting into camp and preparing for these matches, that could be our last chance to road test things before we assemble in Santiago in September.”
