Adelaide United star Panagiotis Kikianis is the most valuable player in the Isuzu UTE A-League, according to CIES Football Observatory.

Since 2013, the CIES Football Observatory has developed a statistical model to assess the transfer value of professional football players on a scientific basis. This tool provides access to the top estimated transfer value per club in 65 leagues worldwide by considering a range of 10% above and below the predicted financial capacity of the most likely buyer.

The CIES Football Observatory tool has been able to show the most valuable player from each Isuzu UTE A-League club, with Adelaide’s 19-year-old defender Kikianis topping the list at an estimated value of up to AUD $7.3 million and at least $5.2m (€3-4.2m).

Melbourne City forward and academy graduate Medin Memeti is second on the list at $3.6m-4.7m (€2.1-2.7m), ahead of another 17-year talent, Dylan Leonard of Western United ($3.6-4.5m/€2.1-2.6m).

Rounding out the top five are Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Dylan Peraic-Cullen ($3.3-4.7m/€1.9-2.7m) and Auckland FC shot-stopper Alex Paulsen ($3.3-4.3m/€1.9-2.5m), who is on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth.

Isaac Hughes is Wellington Phoenix’s most valuable player at $2.7-3.8m (€1.6-2.2m), ahead of Brisbane Roar academy graduate Lucas Herrington at $2.2-2.7m (€1.3-1.6m).

Melbourne Victory full-back Kasey Bos is eighth at $1.9-2.4m (€1.1-1.4m).

Nicolas Milanovic has since left Western Sydney Wanderers for Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen but he is the club’s most valuable player between $1.2-1.4m (€700,000-840,000).
