Westfield W-League's must-see Summer Football Festival fixtures

The Westfield W-League is nearing the business end of the season and the action is only going to intensify during the Summer Football Festival.

With plenty of Westfield Matildas stars on show and even more to play for, now is the time to round up the family and get to your local ground!

Here are the matches not to be missed over the next three rounds.

Perth Glory v Brisbane Roar (R9; 29 December)

This clash could determine the fate of the premiership.

Winners at Suncorp Stadium earlier this season, Perth Glory find themselves needing to repeat the dose on home soil if they’re to reclaim top spot from Brisbane Roar.

With plenty of attacking talent on show – including Glory pair Sam Kerr and Rachel Hill – it’s sure to be a cracker at Dorrien Gardens.

Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets (R10; 3 January)

With the title and top four spots still up for grabs, there will be plenty riding on Newcastle Jets’ visit to Sydney FC.

Allianz Stadium will be the scene – in a double header with the Hyundai A-League – as two in-form teams aim to land a blow on each others’ ambitions.

Watching the likes of Lisa De Vanna and Caitlin Foord go head-to-head with Emily van Egmond will be treat for all fans.

Melbourne City v Perth Glory (R10; 6 January)

It’s a second Grand Final rematch of the season and Melbourne City’s hosting of Perth Glory in Round 10 could well mean much more than that.

The champions are yet to truly hit their stride this season, but a visit from one of the threats to their silverware might jolt them into action.

Both teams are packed with big-game players that will be determined to make a mark.

Canberra United v Western Sydney Wanderers

McKellar Park has been the scene of many magical moments for Canberra United and they’ll hope for more of the same in Round 11.

The Green Machine will hope to have rediscovered top form by then, with a visit from Western Sydney Wanderers no doubt looked at as a chance to keep the pressure on the top four.
