Westerns Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne Victory
Last weekend’s loss to Canberra United officially ended the Wanderers’ finals hopes but there’s no chance they’ll make things easier for Victory in a double-header at ANZ Stadium with the Hyundai A-League.
The Wanderers have put up a strong fight in every match this season and would love nothing more than to extinguish Victory’s own faint finals hopes.
Jeff Hopkins’ side head to Sydney full of confidence after their stunning come-from-behind Melbourne Derby win over City last weekend.
With Melina Ayres in incredible goal-scoring form, Victory will start slight favourites.
Perth Glory v Canberra United
The equation is fairly simple for both of these sides.
Currently sitting sixth and fifth respectively, nothing but three points will do if they have serious designs of playing finals football.
Canberra have enjoyed back-to-back wins and appear to be peaking at just the right time, while Glory are without a win in their last three.
But any team that has Sam Kerr in it can never be written off!
Melbourne City v Brisbane Roar
It’s a blockbuster Sunday clash at AAMI Park as champions City host league-leaders Brisbane Roar.
Both sides are stacked with Westfield Matildas meaning the quality is sure to be high.
Roar will be fresh coming off the bye and got the better of City 2-0 when they met earlier this season.
But with their title-defence hanging by a thread, City can ill-afford to drop points in this one.
