E-League competitors Marcus Gomes and FUTWIZ Marko are amongst the world’s best FIFA players at this weekend’s 2019 FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final in London.
The duo are representing Australia at the 32-man tournament, which will be played over both XBOX and PlayStaion4 to determine the overall FIFA World Champion.
Here’s all you need to know about what promises to be a huge weekend of action.
When is it on?
The event is held over three days, starting on Friday, August 2. The first two days will comprise of group stage matches and some knockout phase games before the Semi Finals and Final Showdown will be held on Sunday, August 4.

Where is it being held?
London is the city that is hosting the event, which is being staged at the iconic O2 Arena.
The venue is the home of the world’s most popular music and entertainment events.

What’s on the line?
The prize money has increased from last year, with an overall prize pool of US$500,000 (AU$734,000).
The overall winner will take home US$250,000 (AU$$367,000), as well as a trip to The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony later this year.

Which groups are Marcus and Marko in?
Marcus is competing in the Xbox category and is one of eight competitors in Group B.
He will go up against the likes of defending champion MsDossary of Saudi Arabia, DaXe (France), NRaseck (Germany), GoalMachine (Canada), DullenMIKE (Germany), Rafsou (France) and Zidane 10 (Spain).
For Marko, who is in the PlayStation category, who has been placed in Group C.
His rivals include nicolas99fc (Argentina), LevVinken (Netherlands), MoAuba (Germany), tuga810 (Portugal), Ustun (Denmark), Tore (Brazil), Dr Erhano (Germany).

What you need to know about our guys
Marko
It’s been a huge 2019 for the young Sydneysider.
As well as representing the Socceroos at the eNations Cup in April, he also enjoyed the ultimate success on domestic soil.
Marko, who is seeded 16th at this event, is Australia’s reigning E-League champion after beating Marcus in the thrilling Grand Final in May.
He has qualified and competed at all of the FUT Champions Cups in 2019, finishing in ninth spot on each occasion.

Marcus
The Melbourne City star is no stranger to this environment, having previously played at this tournament back in 2017.
Like Marco, Marcus became an Australian international and represented the Socceroos at this year’s FIFA eNations Cup.
While he lost the final of the E-League to Marko, Marcus is the undisputed king of Xbox in Australia after he won that leg of the tournament again in 2019.
Marcus, who is seeded 11th in the Xbox category, also has a younger brother Dillon who is emerging as one of the country’s brightest prospects.
