Melbourne City 3-2 Western United FC
United must be sick of the sight of Jamie Maclaren after the City striker scored a second consecutive brace against the competition newcomers.

Wellington Phoenix continued their excellent run of form by accounting for Central Coast Mariners 2-1 at Sky Stadium.
Ufuk Talay’s side raced into a two-goal advantage courtesy of Gary Hooper and Ulises Davila and although Luke DeVere’s own goal gave the Mariners a lifeline, Phoenix proved too strong and moved into fourth position.

Paulo Retre capped off a brilliant week by firing a double as Sydney FC edged past Adelaide United.
The Sydney FC midfielder had signed a contract extension only days before his match-winning first half brace, which proved an unassailable buffer for Adelaide despite Riley McGree’s goal.
