Julie Dolan Medallist seals overseas transfer: ‘Fantastic reinforcement’

Matildas midfielder Isabel Gomez is on the move having left Central Coast Mariners to join Swedish side FC Rosengård.

The 23-year-old enjoyed another standout season in the Ninja A-League, with her performances ultimately enough to see her crowned the 2025-26 Julie Dolan Medal winner.

A Championship winner with the Mariners in the 2024-25 season, Gomez has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Swedish outfit.

Gomez will also see a familiar face in training when she arrives in Sweden given Matildas attacker Remy Siemsen is also on the books at Rosengård.

“I’m super pleased to have signed for Rosengård and can’t wait to put on the red and blue jersey,” said Gomez in a brief statement on the club’s website.

The Swedish club currently sit 13th in the Damallsvenskan and second bottom on the ladder.

“Isabel is a strong ball winner with high work capacity,” says FC Rosengård Director of Football, Caroline Seger.

“She is tactically disciplined and has a good eye for the game. She feels like a fantastic reinforcement for the autumn.”

A two-time Australian international, Gomez’s resume has steadily grown over the last few seasons with the dynamic midfielder earning selection in the PFA A-League Women’s Team of the Season in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.
