Brisbane Roar and CommBank Matildas star Tameka Yallop has been named March Shark Player of the Month in the Ninja A-League after a fan vote.
The 33-year-old finished ahead of a strong field of contenders. Newcastle Jets midfielder Sophie Hoban finished second in the fan vote, and Melbourne City striker Mariana Speckmaier rounded out the top three.

The 10 nominees each month are selected via FotMob’s rating system. The 10 players with the highest FotMob rating (from 0.0 to 10.0) across each voting period are selected as the monthly nominees for the Shark Player of the Month award.
The March eligibility period included Rounds 17-20 of the Ninja A-League season, with games between February 28 and March 27 considered in the FotMob rating system.
Yallop received a FotMob rating of 7.84 through the eligibility period. Her form in March was highlighted by a spectacular brace scored against Newcastle Jets at Perry Park; those two goals took the Matildas forward’s tally to nine for the season, just three goals shy of Golden Boot leaders Emily Gielnik and Holly McNamara.
