Adam Taggart may have only played the last 30 minutes but his impact was immense as Perth Glory secured a stunning come-from-behind 2-1 win over Melbourne City on Saturday night.
Glory looked set for a third-straight loss with Daniel Arzani’s first-half strike giving City a 1-0 lead as the clock ticked towards full time.
But Kenny Lowe’s side hit back with just over five minutes remaining as ex-City midfielder Neil Kilkenny curled a sweet strike into the bottom corner.
Not satisfied with a point, Glory continued to push and remarkably grabbed the winner in the 97th minute courtesy of the returning Taggart.

The striker hadn’t played since mid-January but proved he hasn’t lost any of his killer instinct with a clinical header from close range.
Despite his limited minutes on the pitch, Taggart managed five shots on goal for Glory, more than any other player on the pitch.
While injuries have cruelled his season, the 24-year-old has managed four goals in nine matches and could loom as an x-factor as Perth push for a finals bid.
And with Glory maestro Diego Castro limping off with an apparent calf injury against City, Taggart’s return could prove crucial in the final six rounds.
