Newcastle Jets Coach Phil Stubbins says the club will look to bolster their squad during the January transfer window.
Marcos Flores, Sam Gallaway and Jonny Steele have all departed the ninth-place Jets in recent weeks and Stubbins admitted the club are seeking replacements for the trio.
“In terms of the transfer windows, every club gets active in the market if they see that players need come in and we’re no different,” Stubbins said.
“We’re in a position now where three players have vacated the club and we’ll look to introduce three more players.”
The Newcastle boss said the club has already been active in the January window and have “cast a wide net” in looking for squad additions.
“It happens quickly and we don’t have much time but there has already been some activity in the window from ourselves to look for players that can come in and fill a void,” Stubbins said.
“We’ve only got one recognised left-back at the moment so that’s a player we’ll be looking at.
“As for elsewhere on the pitch we’ll be looking at team balance and whatever players can give the best opportunity to improve the squad, we’ll bring those players in.”
Stubbins said that the club’s sole focus in the window is to bring in players that can add something to the squad and help secure results in the remaining matches.
“We’re looking for players that can enhance the squad and improve us for the second half the campaign,” Stubbins said.
“We’ve not been far away in the first effort of what we’ve done, aside from two or three games.
“We know we’ve got shortfalls but from what I’ve witnessed at training and from how the boys have been taken to task I’m pretty buoyed that we can turn things around.”
