Liam Reddy seemingly cannot avoid the Hyundai A-League’s milestone goals.
The Perth Glory goalkeeper conceded yet another goal at a significant moment in the competition – this time the 5,000th in the competition’s history.
But it is not the first time Reddy, 37, has been between the sticks when a major strike has gone in.

Reddy on receiving end of milestone goal again
Timing is everything – just ask Liam Reddy.
Reddy conceded the 5,000th goal in Hyundai A-League history when Ola Toivonen struck with a free-kick during Melbourne Victory’s 2-0 win over Perth Glory on Saturday night.
As spotted by statistician Andy Howe, Reddy also incredibly conceded the first, 1,000th and 4,000th goals in the competition’s history, and narrowly avoided the 2,000th and 3,000th.

Williams wonderful, Mandi shines for Phoenix
David Williams was in red-hot form for the Wellington Phoenix on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 thrashing of the Newcastle Jets.
Williams needed just 29 seconds to open the scoring – the fastest goal in the Hyundai A-League since Nicolas Martinez’s 20-second effort for the Western Sydney Wanderers against Perth Glory in November 2016.
It was Williams’ first Hyundai A-League hat-trick since he scored three against the Phoenix, for Melbourne Heart, in February 2014.

While he finished without an assist to his name, Mandi created six chances. He is just the sixth Phoenix player to manage that since Opta started keeping the stat in 2012/13, joining Carlos Hernandez, Michael McGlinchey, Alex Rodriguez, Gui Finkler and Matthew Ridenton.
Sarpreet Singh sealed Wellington’s victory while Roy O’Donovan was on the scoresheet for Newcastle, the Phoenix unbeaten in three matches against the Jets under Mark Rudan.

O’Neill leads the way as Sky Blues achieve rare Suncorp success
Brandon O’Neill set a mark he last achieved in 2015/16 during Sydney FC’s 3-1 win over Brisbane Roar.
The midfielder created five chances – including two assists – for the first time since that season.
O’Neill is also just the second Sydney player to achieve the feat this campaign, joining Michael Zullo (six in Round 11).

REACTION: De Jong shows his class
Adam Le Fondre and Siem de Jong struck to see the Sky Blues to victory after Eric Bautheac had cancelled out Aaron Calver’s first-minute opener.
It marked just Sydney’s third win in their past 18 visits to face the Roar at Suncorp Stadium in the Hyundai A-League.

Reds continue narrow run over Mariners
Adelaide United edged past the Central Coast Mariners once more.
Isaias’ first-half goal helped the Reds to a 1-0 win in Gosford, extending their unbeaten run against the Mariners to seven games.
Incredibly, of six wins in that period, only one has been by a margin of more than one goal.
Central Coast have also lost five straight at home to Adelaide, their last success over the Reds when hosting coming in 2015.
Wanderers finally end ANZ woes
The Western Sydney Wanderers got the job done at ANZ Stadium.
Oriol Riera’s double and a Mitchell Duke strike saw the Wanderers beat Melbourne City 3-0, ending a seven-game losing run at the venue.
Western Sydney have lost just one of their past 11 Hyundai A-League games at home to City.
While City were unbeaten in their past two away trips, they were unable to match the three-game run they put together in early 2018.
