Son of a legend commits future to Glory on multi-year scholarship deal: ‘A natural talent’

Perth Glory have re-signed teenage midfield duo Sebastian Despotovski and Oliver Evans on two-year scholarship contracts.

Despotovski made his Isuzu UTE A-League debut in Round 29 of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The son of Glory legend Bobby Despotovski, the 19-year-old academy product has committed to two more years of development at the club alongside 17-year-old midfielder Evans, who has scored 10 goals for Glory’s Under-20 side this season.

“We have very high hopes for Seb and Ollie,” said Glory football director Stan Lazaridis.

“Seb is a real natural talent who is developing into a very versatile midfielder capable of influencing games from a number of different positions.

“Having only just turned 17, Ollie is not quite as far along in his development journey, but has already managed to establish himself as a livewire attacking player with huge potential.

“The coaching they have received within our PGFC Academy system has played a key role in the development of both players and we are excited to see how they continue to progress in the next two years.”
