Melbourne City have confirmed the departure of Rhianna Pollicina from the club, following the conclusion of her contract.
Pollicina joined City from Newcastle Jets in 2021-22 and went on to score 29 goals across 85 appearances at the club. Pollicina’s 29-goal tally for City is the second-most of any Ninja A-League player in club history.
A key figure in City’s back-to-back Premiership titles in 2023-24 and 2024-25, Pollicina departs as a significant contributor to the club’s recent success.
“It’s been an honour to wear the City blue and I feel extremely privileged to have been a part of such a successful club,” Pollicina said.
“I had the pleasure of sharing the pitch with some incredible teammates, and I have so many fond memories from each season that I will never forget.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to all the fans who made my time at City so enjoyable. You will always hold a special place in my heart.”

The 28-year-old is the first confirmed departure from the club at the end of a season in which she made history as the club’s first-ever goalscorer in the AFC Women’s Champions League.
City director of football Michael Petrillo lauded Pollicina for her contribution to the club.
“Rhianna has been an exceptional player for us over the past four seasons. Her impact on the pitch speaks for itself, and she’s been an integral part of our recent success,” Petrillo said.
“We would like to thank her for her contributions and wish her every success in the next stage of her career.”
