Dylan Wenzel-Halls has committed his future to Brisbane Roar after penning a long-term contract extension today.
The 21-year-old forward joined the three-time Hyundai A-League Champions last year after establishing a prolific scoring record for NPL Queensland, most notably for Western Pride.
He has emerged as a bright spot for the Roar in recent weeks, opening his Hyundai A-League account on February 2 against Adelaide United and hitting a memorable winner in the club’s 2-1 upset of Sydney FC last Friday.
The announcement comes after Brisbane confirmed the imminent departure of Adam Taggart to an unnamed Asian club today.
Wenzel-Halls said he was delighted to pledge his future to his hometown club.
“I’m proud to sign a contract extension with Brisbane and I can’t wait for the remainder of the season and what lies ahead,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’d like to thank BRFC for the opportunity and the faith shown in me by the coaching staff. I want to repay the faith everyone has shown in me by giving my all in each and every match.”

Meanwhile, Brisbane’s interim head coach Darren Davies lauded the announcement, hailing Wenzel-Halls as an important player for Roar in both the short and long term.
“We’re delighted that Dylan has committed his long term future to Brisbane. He is a proud Queenslander who has an exciting future,” Davies said.
“Dylan’s contribution and work ethic to the team has been outstanding and he is getting rewarded on and off the field which is pleasing.
“We’re all focused on the weeks ahead and finishing the season strongly and I know Dylan has an important role to play.”
