Chris Herd and Adam Federici have been ruled out of the Qantas Socceroos squad through injury.
Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck today announced a number of changes to his squad for the upcoming international friendly match with Denmark (Copenhagen, 2 June 2012) and 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Oman (Muscat, 8 June) and Japan (Brisbane, 12 June).
Goalkeeper Adam Federici has been withdrawn from the squad due to injury and has been replaced by Germany-based goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak.
West Australian Chris Herd has also been withdrawn due to injury and at this stage will not be replaced.
Club commitments will prevent Carl Valeri and Josh Kennedy being available for the Denmark friendly with both players joining the squad for the Oman match in Muscat.
Valeri has been given permission to play for his club in the Serie-B promotion play-off matches against Sampdoria on the 30 May and 2 June.
Kennedy will travel to Muscat following his AFC Champions League match against Adelaide United in Adelaide.
Brett Holman is also in doubt for the Denmark match as he is awaiting the birth of his second child. A decision regarding whether or not Holman will join the squad in Denmark or Oman has not been made at this time.
The Qantas Socceroos have played Denmark on two previous occasions with the Qantas Socceroos most recently defeating Denmark 1-0 at Ruimsig Stadium prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The Qantas Socceroos will be preparing for the final round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, whilst Denmark will be preparing, for Euro 2012, which begins on Friday 8 June where they have been drawn in group B alongside Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal.
Denmark lost to Brazil 1-3 in a friendly match in Hamburg on Saturday evening.
Following the Denmark match, the Qantas Socceroos will travel to Muscat to prepare for their 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier against Oman.
All three matches will be will be broadcast Live and Exclusive by FOX SPORTS in Australia.
