Back to business at EnergyAustralia Stadium! It set to be a cracking Hyundai A-League encounter as high-flying United come to town.

Last week-s triumph over North Queensland Fury was the most telling result of the season for Newcastle Jets. Before that win, their decent run of form could have been explained away – the team were maybe just riding a wave of enthusiasm as they prepared to welcome LA Galaxy.

It would surely all come crashing down around them after the game had passed. So, once the ticker tape had been swept away, the fact that they arrived back on earth and went about their business so efficiently against a battling Fury proved that this is a team well and truly on the up.

Having lorded it with superstars just a week earlier, it would have been understandable had the team suffered a hangover against their battling opponents, so for them to pull off their first away win of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season was especially commendable.

Having been under the cosh for much of the game, Jets struck twice late on with crucial goals from Topor-Stanley and Petrovski. Since then, they have faced another tough midweek away game at AAMI Park against unpredictable Melbourne Heart and now go into the match with Gold Coast United with a place in the top six very much in their sights.

What a turnaround it has been for a club that, earlier in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season, weren-t even sure if they would be able to fulfil their fixtures.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast United travel to EnergyAustralia Stadium looking to get their amazing away run back on track. Before losing the six-pointer to Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium at the back end of November, Miron Bleiberg-s side hadn-t lost on the road in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season. They will certainly provide a massive test for Newcastle Jets on this Wednesday night encounter.

The last time the teams came up against each other, at Skilled Park back in September, it was a typical stingy defensive display that was the foundation of a 1-0 win for United.

Since then though, the Gold Coast defence – ravaged by injury – has been leaking goals here and there, while Newcastle – who couldn-t find the net for love nor money – have been bolstered by the arrival of Francis Jeffers and have been improving in the attacking third.

This one is an intriguing contest between a newly resurgent Jets side and one of the best teams of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season. It-s impossible to call, so get along to EnergyAustralia Stadium and watch the action unfold for yourself as these two teams go all out for the win!
