The All Stars boss awoke to a stunning Sydney winter’s day keen to explain the role the inaugural All Stars line up will play in ensuring a legacy for the concept for years to come.
“It was always going to be difficult, the first All Stars game because we’re kind of leaping into the unknown and people didn’t know what to expect,” said Postecoglou.
“There wouldn’t be a Hyundai A-League player or anyone involved in the Hyundai A-League who will be watching tonight who won’t be thinking they wouldn’t mind being a part of it next year.
“I think it’s going to become a lot bigger and really appealing.
“Our job as the inaugural representatives of our competition is to make sure we put on a good show tonight so this thing can grow.
“It gives players an unbelievable opportunity, whether you’re a young Australian player, an Australian player, a foreigner, I think every player tonight will see this game as a career highlight and that’s the potential for every Hyundai A-League player in the coming years.”
The Foxtel A-League All Stars will debut against Manchester United at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on 20 July with match coverage to be broadcast live and exclusive on the Seven Network nationally from 6.30pm (AEST).
