Key member of Lions FC’s league and cup success signed by Perth Glory on two year contract.
The 21-year-old centre back joins Perth Glory from NPL Queensland league winners Lions FC after a stellar showing through the team’s run to the Hahn Australia Cup semi-final.
Deng joins Adam Griffiths’ team in pre-season as the countdown continues to the Glory’s opening game away to Macarthur FC on Saturday October 17.

Deng has been a standout for Lions FC in their Australia Cup victories against North Sunshine Eagles, Melbourne City and head-to-head against Glory, winning 83% of his aerial duels across those games and making 30 clearances and 40 overall defensive contributions.
The 194cm tall centre-back was a Central Coast Mariners academy player before a spell in the Singapore Premier League at Balestier Khalsa prior to returning to Australia at Lions.

“It’s a proud moment for myself and my family and I just can’t wait to get into the work and get started,” Deng said.
“I want to be able to test myself and see if I can prove myself at full-time professional level again.
“I’m a very passionate player, I’m looking forward to playing for the club and I’m going to give everything for the colours and the city.”
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that Deng has huge potential.
“We’re thrilled to have got Cher on board,” he said.
“He was a standout performer when we played Lions FC in the Cup and again when they played Melbourne City and his NPL form this year has been just as outstanding.

“As well as his physical presence, he’s also very mobile and a good distributor and at 21, he very much fits our player profile.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that Cher can be a big player for us going forward and we’re excited to add him to the group.”
Perth Glory’s first home game of the Isuzu Ute A-League season falls on November 1 when Glory host Brisbane Roar at HBF Park.
