Adelaide United – Ben Halloran
It took six games, but Ben Halloran is off the mark for Adelaide United in the Hyundai A-League.
The winger-turned-forward was the only player to score twice over the weekend, his goals giving the Reds a 2-1 victory over Brisbane Roar.
Halloran finished with a joint-high four shots on target for Round 6.
Brisbane Roar – Henrique
Always a live wire off the bench, Henrique gave Brisbane hope on Friday night.
The Brazilian coolly tucked away his lone shot amid a fiery clash at Coopers Stadium – a 100% strike rate.
Central Coast Mariners – Matt Simon
He just had to get on the scoresheet against Sydney FC.
Matt Simon opened the scoring in Gosford and was a real handful for his former club, registering two shots on target in total and attempting the most passes for his side in the opposition half (24).
Melbourne City – Luke Brattan
Luke Brattan’s stunning volley was simply a perfect way to put Melbourne City two clear in their eventual 3-0 win over Newcastle Jets.
While not quite Orlando Engelaar range, it was his longest goal since April 2013 and City’s longest this season.

Melbourne Victory – Terry Antonis
He had to jostle for attention in a glittering Melbourne Victory display, but Terry Antonis did his best to command the spotlight.
The 25-year-old finished off a sweeping team move and was the only player to create five or more scoring chances (six) and make 50 or more passes (54) this round.

Newcastle Jets – Nigel Boogaard
Nigel Boogaard was able to hold his head up high despite Newcastle Jets’ 3-0 loss at AAMI Park.
The experienced centre-back made a team-high 72 passes – including nine into the final third – while topping his team’s count for blocked shots (two) and recoveries (nine).
Perth Glory – Diego Castro
Diego Castro made his case for a Perth Glory starting spot with an excellent cameo in the 1-1 draw away to Wellington Phoenix.
The captain scored the equaliser and created three chances in just 25 minutes.
Sydney FC – Brandon O’Neill
Already impressive this season, Brandon O’Neill continued to turn heads with a thumping left-footed drive against Central Coast.
It was the longest goal the Hyundai A-League has seen since November 2017 and completed Sydney FC’s comeback victory.
???
What a brilliant strike from Brandon O'Neill!
Is that the goal of the season to date?#ALeague #CCMvSYD

Wellington Phoenix – Roy Krishna
Roy Krishna became Wellington Phoenix’s all-time leading scorer on Saturday and, while he wasn’t to be the match-winner, the milestone man had every right to be proud of his performance.
Both of his two shots were on target as he posted team-high six touches inside the box.

Western Sydney Wanderers – Bruce Kamau
There was little comfort for Western Sydney Wanderers in their 4-0 loss to a rampant Victory.
Bruce Kamau offered at least one ray of light though, carving out two chances and testing Lawrence Thomas with his only shot of the contest.
