Read on to discover who shone brightest, including a couple of stars who have made the jump-up from the NPL.
Adelaide United – Isaias
His side might have been on the end of a 2-0 defeat but the Reds skipper was a creative master in the middle of the park.
Isaias created a round-high six scoring chances over the 90 minutes, all of which his teammates were unable to make the most of.
Only once since Opta began collecting this data in the 2012/13 Season has any Reds player made more in a game (Craig Goodwin with 7) than the Spaniard.
Brisbane Roar – Matt McKay
He may be one of Roar’s elder statesmen these days, but the ex-Caltex Socceroos midfielder is showing no signs of slowing down.
McKay created two scoring chances, won four of the six duels he contested and made four passes into the final third in an excellent all-round display against the Newcastle Jets.
Central Coast Mariners – Matthew Millar
The 22-year-old has justified the Mariners decision to grant him a Hyundai A-League lifeline from NPL club South Melbourne.
Millar was again Central Coast’s most damaging player in the 2-0 loss to the Wanderers on Friday night.
He made nine touches in the opposition’s box and also made four clearances at the other end in an all-action display from the right wing-back.

Melbourne City – Bart Schenkeveld
One of the best defenders in the Hyundai A-League, Schenkeveld lived up to his reputation against Perth Glory on Saturday night.
The Dutchman made three clearances, made four passes into the final third from centre-back and finished with a passing accuracy of an impressive 90%.

Melbourne Victory – Kosta Barbarouses
The Kiwi international is loving life as part of Victory’s attacking line-up.
Barbarouses scored from his only shot on goal in the 2-0 win over the Reds, while he also created two chances for his teammates.
He also contested 15 duels as Victory made it five wins in a row.

Newcastle Jets – Kaine Sheppard
Talk about picking the right time to score your first Hyundai A-League goal.
Making his first start in the competition, Sheppard scored with his lone shot on goal to send the Jets on their way to a much-needed win over Brisbane Roar.
The English-born striker also won four of the seven duels he contested and finished with a passing accuracy of 82%.

Perth Glory – Chris Ikonomidis
The speedy winger continued to push his claims for a Caltex Socceroos call-up for next month’s AFC Asian Cup with a standout display in the 1-0 win over City.
Ikonomidis had a shooting accuracy of 100% from two shots, one of which turned out to be the winning goal.
He also contested 21 duels, with only teammate Diego Castro (22) and the Wanderers’ Oriol Riera (24) contesting more in Round 7.

Sydney FC – Michael Zullo
While it won’t make up for his side’s poor performance, the marauding left-back still had some good moments in the loss to Wellington.
Zullo scored Sydney FC’s only goal while he also created another scoring chance at Jubilee Stadium.

Wellington Phoenix – Roy Krishna
Wellington’s Fijian flyer was his side’s best for a second straight week.
Krishna made a round-high four shots on target with a 100% shooting accuracy.
Two of those strikes ended in goals as the Phoenix upset Sydney FC 3-1.

Western Sydney Wanderers – Jaushua Sotirio
The young winger can be much maligned among Wanderers fans but there’s no doubting his contribution in the win over the Mariners.
Sotirio was a constant menace, making three successful crosses from as many attempts, and he was the only player to make more than one successful cross.
