Melbourne Victory and Subway Socceroos forward Nishan Velupillay has capped off a sensational month with the Isuzu UTE A-League’s Shark Player of the Month award for March, after a fan vote.

The 23-year-old played four league games for Victory in March and notched three goals and two assists, highlighted by his performance in Saturday’s Original Rivalry in which he scored one goal and assisted two more to inspire a 5-3 win over Adelaide United.

That performance came after a breakout international camp with the Socceroos. Velupillay scored in back-to-back games against Indonesia and China PR to help Australia edge closer toward qualification for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.

The 10 players with the highest FotMob rating (from 0.0 to 10.0) across each voting period are selected as the monthly nominees for the Shark Player of the Month award.

The March eligibility period included Rounds 21-24 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season, with games between February 28 and March 30 considered in the FotMob rating system.
